Pat, I haven't given a horse anything to eat since that incident with the colt and the victory-v lozenge . . . of which I will not speak any more on the grounds that I might be incriminated!
A wise mum. The chloroform was mixed with the secret ingredient cannabis to produce chlorodyne and added to the other ingredients which were pulverised sugar, linseed and liquorice. Totally illegal today of course!
I love this Gwil, both the photograph and the words. Did you have a little treat in your pocket so that you could disobey the sign ?

ReplyDeleteVictory-V takes me back. I wonder if they are still made.
ReplyDeleteRachel, they are now made by Ernest Jackson in Devon but unfortunately they no longer contain the ingredient chloroform.
ReplyDeleteAh, my mother would never allow me to have one because she said they were too strong. Now I see why.
