I love Venice's weird window displays - I always feel that as well as being arranged to catch the eye they are also meant to shock. That is the essence of Venice for me - and I love it. I was lucky enough to go to the Fenice theatre (to see the Shanghai Opera) shortly before it burnt down. I count that as one of the high points of my life.
You mean the shop front photo actually comes in technicolour?

ReplyDeletePat, I never went to the old Fenice but I've been to the new one, which is an attempt at recreation but I'm told doesn't quite capture the old spirit.
