This signboard was on the pavement in front of a shop. Will anyone follow the advice to "Live every day as if it was your last" I wondered. I'm not sure about those other guidelines either. Nevertheless, in the end, it served to stimulate a haiku verse:
the morning gruel
the care nurse brings
will soon be cold
Too right Gwil - the older one gets the truer it becomes.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite quote along these lines (which I don't necessarily agree with) is
' Live and love each day as if your last, spend your money as if you are going to live for ever!'
Pat, if I really knew today was my last I'd have a going away party. There would be champagne brut and a giant chocolate cake in the shape of a coffin and a jukebox with 60's music. But naturally I can't go down that road every day. Well, I suppose I could if I opened a theme bar . . .
ReplyDeleteI've already changed my mind. I'd spend my last 24 hours alone on a mountain or by the seashore and reflect on the meaning of life, the universe and everything.
ReplyDeleteoh, I was about to ask if you were going to invite me to the party. Never mind.
