"An idea no longer shrouded in mist, through wave or ether comes to me, like a star from high up in the skies, or a pearl from the bottom of the sea." - Victor Hugo (Les rayons et les ombres)
This needs thought Gwilym.
Great take on this event. If only I was high enough to see all the boats.
Pat, I've put up an image to help you your heavenly thoughts take off. Gordon,Thanks. I've always thought you were one of high enough ones :)
A clever conclusion. It got me thinking (a) of the Patchen picture poem, "All at once is what eternity is" and (b) the way we tend to find rare phenomena astonishing and the ones that surround us all the time, commonplace.
Thanks Dominic, and what you say at (b) is very true. The new poem today (10/1/11) 'My insect' looks again in this direction.Best,Gwilym
