Yi Cui's Battery


It is now 4 months since the disaster at Fukushima began unfolding. The Japanese are already talking about a 20-year clean-up operation. Obviously no solution is in sight. And what is more they are assuming that no earthquake, tsunami, typhoon or other unforeseen event occurs at Fukushima in the meantime.

Here is an interesting article I found at Science Daily. It concerns Yi Cui's battery. It's a new way to generate electricity. It doesn't involve boiling any water. The Japanese Diet should read and discuss it.

    What intrigues me about wars, disasters etc. Gwilym is that they are only news for a day or two. You could be forgiven for thinking that the uprising in Libya, the earthquake and subsequent nuclear disaster in Japan - they have all gone away - no longer newsworth.

    I happened to pick up a newspaper in the library and the first 4 or 5 pages were all about the Murdochgate.

    Real news was harder to find.
