It's not only humans doing science . . .

Science is the crow
 who looks through the window
and sees me at breakfast.

Science is the fox
who waits for the breeze
under the ripening apricot trees.

Science is the cat
who goes and comes
wherever he likes

  1. You've got me thinking perhaps animals do science all the time without thinking about it. They are only interested in what is true, so far as we know.

  2. Hi Dominic, yes, animals are doing science for real life and death reasons like following the seasons, finding food and shelter, mating and rearing progeny. As you say: doing what is true - as far as we know.

  3. Both of our farm cats are brilliant at science - my dog less so.

  4. I do understand! We had a curious cat here this morning.
