Mainichi Daily News Haiku Contest 2012

A reminder that this year's free-to-enter Mainichi Daily News Haiku Contest closes on 31st August.

There's a link to the relevant Mainichi Daily News page in my A-Z Links at the bottom right of this blog.

  1. I find haiku really difficult Gwil - i think it is because I usually use far too many words in my poetry.

  2. I think the haiku form is undergoing something of a revolution - you may be on to something!

  3. Personally I think since the 4 Fukushima Daiichi meltdowns (not over yet) the haiku form must change - rather like poetry did after Auschwitz. We cannot go on romanticising a twig of cherry blossom tree when children are getting radiation sickness

    Through the clouds
I can see the stars, but
    My shoes are leaking
