I think Ryan Air is OK. Michel Houellebecq travels Ryan Air in his novel The Map of the Territory (if that's what it translates as). I'm currently having to read it in German as 'Karte und Gebiet'. He says Ryan Air carries normal people and with Air France it's like flying to a business meeting in this work of fiction.
One time at the boarding gate I had to take some books out of my hand luggage and put them in my jacket pockets so that my hand luggage wasn't 0.5 kilo overweight. Then I was allowed to proceed.
Mr O'Leary would laugh and then give a long explanation on the economics of cheap air travel.

ReplyDeleteThey are trained to be efficient, especially when demonstrating the life jacket and pointing out the exits.
