"An idea no longer shrouded in mist, through wave or ether comes to me, like a star from high up in the skies, or a pearl from the bottom of the sea." - Victor Hugo (Les rayons et les ombres)
That was a lovely piece.
In this particular instance it took rather a long time, in fact 100 years since the start of WWI before they got round to it. In the picture we have the mayor of Bad Ischl in Austria (here Franz Joseph I signed the declaration of war which led to the war declaration domino effect and WWI) and the mayor of Sarajevo in Serbia (here the assassination of the crown prince Franz Ferdinand took place, the spark which ignited the whole business).
It is amazing what time can do.
I think we have to wait 100 years because we have 10 fingers. If we had 12 fingers we'd have to wait 120 years :'-)
I'm sure the poem must have simply happened in a moment.--R K
Today is the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre. People on the radio from both sides saying why they are marching for peace.
