Foggy Inspiration

Foggy Inspiration (Vienna)

Sunday in winter
The swell striding proud

No beggar or child
Dare hinder his way.

Smoke rises at the ends

Of the days. The fog

Is no barrier. The cross

Could be though. He'd

Better kneel down
If upward he'd go!

  1. Found your blog posting though your link from Inspired Sundays takes one to a page with no post.
Is that spire all by itself or attached to a church?

  2. Hello Marcia, The bell tower is not attached to the church. The church is also modern. I will try to submit a picture of the church next week. It's the first time I've taken part in a meme so I was a bit green when it came to providing the relevant 'link'. Thank you for finding your way here.

  3. Try re-editing the link - I always find it best to copy/paste the link from the browser address bar rather than typing it

  4. the URL of this post is not ...2016/foggy... but ...2016/01/foggy...

  5. Hello Gerald, I left a message with the editors. I couldn't find a way to change. But next week I'll be sure to do it correctly. This was my first go. Cheers G.

  6. I like the picture with the chimney and smoke and the tower with the cross. It reminds me of Krakow with blocks of flats with chimneys on top with smoke coming out and old people carrying in coal.

  7. Thanks Rachel. I hope you are continuing to recover from the flu. The church resembles a fire station, so it fits to smoke and coal. I'll try to show the church next week.

  8. Ha, ha, ha! The church is befogged so it is :)

    1. Heron, wait until you see the heavily criticized main building. It looks like a fire station. One story I heard was that the architect committed suicide due to adverse criticism. Same thing happened at Vienna state opera. Can't imagine an architect doing that today, unless the building fell down.
