  1. I am just sickened by the whole thing Gwil. It is quite true that the rich get rich and the poor get poorer - what can most of our Front Bench know about the cost of living as most of them are millionaires.

    1. When I come to the UK some of the first things I notice is the large number of "pound shops", and the shabbiness of a lot of the town centers, with many shops boarded up, and amount of litter . . . and in fact a friend of mine returning from a visit to London remarked, without any prompting from me, on the gulf between the rich and the poor. I have the impression that Britain is following the US and the middle class is under threat.

    1. True. Do you think a good person must necessarily be honest?

    3. Honesty means no bullshit. To be an honest politician is not easy (maybe it's impossible - although Jimmy Carter, Nelson Mandela and Gandhi managed it. It's because you have to serve 3 masters: lobbyists, yourself, your party, the electorate. The electorate being last in the list.

    1. Hello Bob. I'm a sucker for these Keep Calm slogans, even if some of them are corny.
