We've been here before
With the imminent departure of the United Kingdom the Germanic EU Project can steam dangerously ahead.
The long held EU dream is of an EU stretching from the Atlantic to the Middle East and to the Russian border. It will, they hope, encompass Ukraine, Moldavia, Georgia, and Turkey.
It will also have a its own Army, Air Force and Navy.
We've been here before. Twice.
Merkel, Juncker and cohorts appear to think Russia will stand idly by and allow it to happen a third time. Any schoolchild knows they will not. The insane have taken over the madhouse.
Perhaps Eire should think of leaving the EU. Perhaps Scotland should not rush back in.
Anybody who thinks an EU Army is a great idea ought to read The Good Soldier Svejk. Yes, we've had an EU before. Only it was called the Habsburg Monarchy. It was little different from today. Same policies. Same expansionism. Same politics of fear. It ended with a world war. This time around we need some cooler heads.
May peace be with you all.

I heard that Wales won by an og while I was at the wedding.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ball into box from left by Gareth. Defenders running back cannot deal with it. An og almost inevitable. Class tells.
DeletePut your money where your mouth is Gwil and immediately return to live in Wales, am sure there will be a welcome in hillside for you.
ReplyDeleteVery unlikely that Éire will shoot it's self in the foot as per the UK, who are heading into a mammoth recession with the angel of death in the form of IMF hovering in the shadows.
Unfortunately my pension is losing value by the day, so I guess that means my money is already where my mouth is. Returning is not a possibility at this time for personal reasons. Nobody can predict how this will end but I respect the opinion of the people of Wales, and being disenfranchised myself by the 15 year rule will support them here. It is not called the Land of my Fathers for nothing. At the end of the day our ancestors are our role models. If there are better in Juncker's Berlin, Brussels, Paris axis, the EU controllers, I've yet to meet them.
DeleteThe planned labeling trick by the EU Comission to accept TTIP via a Trojan Horse called CETA - 1500 pages compiled by international lawyers - that is to say Obama's pet project via the back door - is doomed. It will herald the end of the EU if it goes ahead. Austria is building an alliance of the unwilling. The trick is for US companies like Burger King to transfer their registered address to Canada and hope the EU Commission rubber stamp CETA and sneak it through the EU parliament in Trojan Horse fashion, and no doubt with their usual arrogance.
ReplyDeleteJust seen Angela with her best Rottweiler smile. Flanked by Hollande (to her Right) who didn't know whether to smile or not, so produced an uncertain imitation of his leader, and Renzi (Left) who didn't smile but sort of half looked away, as if he sensed the whole business was a nonsnse, another EU publicity stunt and of course he is right.
