This morning's gentle jog along a path of frosted leaves found another haiku waiting in the woods:
borzoi and greyhound
sniff at tree's base;
labrador waits with ball
And as for the pigs? Well, they were in their usual place again; and there was much excitement!
man at pigpen
with wheelbarrow
brings forth tailspinning squeals
Love the tailspinning squeals!!
ReplyDeleteGreat minds think alike - I too have posted a haiku today. Sometimes they strike you suddenly when you are out walking don't they?
That's right. Also they are our 'hey, look at that' moments. And the haiku form is a good way to record and recall them.
ReplyDeleteouch - the man DOES NOT BRING squeals
ReplyDeletehe (or what he brings) may well EVOKE squeals
Thanks Gerald, I'd missed that. I must have forgotten to click 'save'
ReplyDeletewhen I did the edit. Changed it now to how it's supposed to be. By the way, thanks for the photo of Hyde Utd FC.! Brought back lovely memories of rainy days at the famous sloping pitch in Canal Street, near 'The Bridge', in those good old Cheshire League days. Bangor City from Wales were also in the Cheshire Laeague! They got to a European quarter final against Naples I recall now.
ah this much better but would be better still without "brings forth" - the words are redundant
ReplyDeleteman at pig pen
with a wheelbarrow
tailspinning squeals
there is a natural "cesura" (break) at the end of line 2 so no punctuation is required.
