It is an owl

If
you
who
rest without remorse
and sleep
too light
should ever wonder
who
or what
it is
it is an owl
who turned
to you
and softly laughed
upon your tree
of dreams

'Owl Who Laughs'

  1. Twilight is sometimes called "owl light," a time when the boundary between realms conscious and unconscious turns permeable--and the statue here does just that, shift between gestalts and reasons why--

    Why "it is an owl."

    Much obliged!

  2. And so tonight I shall read (out loud) Altarwise by owl-light by Dylan Thomas - 't will be a hoot.

  3. Great words...thankyou...tonight we heard two owls in the back field. It's been a while since we heard one and now there are two...that means a pair and that means nests and owlets...I hope...so thanks for this super poem!
