MY POET-IN-RESIDENCE BLOG IS CURRENTLY BEING TARGETED BY SPAMMERS WHO ARE LEAVING LINKS VAGUELY DISGUISED AS REPLIES TO POSTS. I WILL THEREFORE CLOSE THE COMMENTS FACILITY FOR A WHILE. I REGRET THAT I HAVE TO DO THIS AS I TRY TO REPLY TO ALL UNFEIGNED COMMENTS. I CONSIDER IT IMPORTANT TO HAVE THE COMMENTS FACILITY AVAILABLE TO ALL VISITORS (REGULAR OR NOT). I WILL TRY REINSTATING THE SERVICE IN DUE COURSE.
COINCIDENTALLY (OR NOT) THE MOST POPULAR SEARCHED-FOR POEM ON POET-IN-RESIDENCE AT THE PRESENT TIME IS CALLED "THE COMPUTER".

I was prompted to write this because of a story on this morning's yahoo! news about an archbishop who was trying to report the truth was suddenly transferred from the Vatican to Washington D C as an ambassador because he was telling of the extent of the problems in the Vatican and had exposed two years of corruption and even produced letters or documents on a TV programme and even wrote a letter of complaint to his boss. A persona non grata in Rome you might say. I wonder what gentle Jesus meek and mild would make of all the goings on in his name?
