 running before a storm 

to shelter in the church

two women cross a bridge

  1. Your haiku leaves me wondering - who are they? what are they doing there? where are they going? - perhaps that is the purpose of a good haiku?

  2. It's "a haiku moment" to quote someone whose name I can't remember. The idea is that our days contain poetic moments if we can just capture them. I was fortunate to have my camera with me.

    I like the idea of the bridge between heaven and earth - between the storms or struggles of our existences and the perceived balm of heaven. But you are right, a good haiku raises many more questions than it answers.

  3. Thanks Rachel. I was lucky to frame the domes and the umbrellas. The unlit lamp completes the composition.
