The Last War

on the other side

of a river somewhere

the last man

  1. Not sure what this means Gwil, so will have to think about it. But it does make me think that so few of the men who fought in the 39 to 45 war are left, that we shall soon be down to the last man. The more I think about it the more I can read into it, and surely that is the purpose of a poem.

  2. The river in the photo is part of the old 'iron curtain'.
The sign says that the border between east and west is in the middle of the river.

The picture is illuminated with flash so does that mean there is hope for the woman waiting by the river?

As you say, the more you think about it the more you can read into it. It is very deep. It is even deeper than the river.
