Many turn to their  holy book
To the blood-soaked source
And words of comfort
And instruction . . .
Those bloody chronicles
So beloved of holy men
Standing at the gravesides
Of people gone to paradise

    I have to take this in slowly. I had a convent school education and it still hangs heavily on my shoulders. I read the psalms from time to time.

    Religion is a powerful propaganda weapon. Some of the psalms are very poetic and inspiring.
