yesterday

a lumpish knot in the string

a rogue particle in the quantum

an extra raisin in the donut

take your pick

an/d time slipped

made an absence of progress

in curved space

we sensed
- as through a gap
a brief and sudden rush of wind

we shifted
to a new dimension

where history stays
the future changes
and for the moment
the present

This is altogether too clever for my brain to take in.

Incidentally - I liked the poetry book you sent to Joan - she was so pleased to get your letter.

Pat, I'm pleased the book was a good choice. They've recently made a teeny-weeny-mini-black hole at CERN.
Gordon, Thanks.

Reading the latest breaking news reports (e.g. today's NY Times - Cern captures anti-matter, replicates Big-Bang etc.) I appear with this poem to have preceeded the quantum event ever so slightly. Never mind. On we go.
