My 2002 Christmas Tree

I made a sketch of my 2002 tree. This year, in the spirit of the times, we'll do without.

Candles on our Christmas tree
The dove of peace on top
Baubles on the ends of branches
Queues in all the shops

  1. I like the sketch, and your new header! Really no Christmas tree? (Though, as we are for the first time on Christmas away from Berlin, we won't buy one either).

    1. Thanks Brigitta, an environmentally friendly compromise may be a small green twig from the woods. The primroses are out. There is blossom on some trees. The famers weekend market which traditionally closed in November when the first cold snap arrived stays open 4 or 5 weeks longer these days. Hope you have nice holiday, whatever you do.

  2. Maybe the dove of peace is misplaced this Christmas, but then when is there peace? How I long for primroses in the woods here Gwil - all is grey and foggy.

    1. After two weeks without sunshine I start to get down in the dumps. We've been lucky so far this winter. Hope you get some soon.

  3. I am late. I too like the header. I am not sure about having a tree or not, it is too early for my decision. I like to leave this until the days immediately before Christmas Day. All is grey and foggy here too but I am rather partial to it. You can't beat such a dull atmospheric day for the imagination to run free.

    1. It's turning a little bit foggy now. We'll have a green Christmas. Most of the snow has gone to Scandinavia. Today I found a twig of holly. Lady G will decide what to do with it.

  4. A wreath
    graces our door
    and with all good friends
    we know this season's jewel is joy;
    bells ring.

    __With a red bow, good wishes to you all_!

  5. Sketch + poem = potentially quite a Christmas card!

    1. Thanks Dominic. By the way I found 6 cds featuring John Dowland in one store. He is very popular here. Often heard on the radio.
